PhD, PATRIAS and thanks

Updated: Apr 13, 2021

In addition to my day job, over many years I've been performing a PhD study to answer the question, "How can we anticipate the impact that an intelligent automation system will have on a manufacturing supply chain?" My focus is the television content production supply chain and MAM type platforms. I've just reached a significant milestone by submitting my thesis.

This work's output is PATRIAS - a systematic methodology for investment and implementation decision-making to achieve improved and more timely ROI. Consisting of a framework of highly integrated techniques, it is built on classic academic studies, cross-sector best practices, interviews with expert practitioners and executives, and practice-led research within multiple media organisations.

My PhD is still not complete, but at least I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. A shout out to the fantastic teams that I met during over 70-hours of workshops at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the expert practitioners and executives that I had the pleasure to interview, and my academic supervisors for their support throughout – a distinguished and highly talented group of people too numerous to individually list here. Thank you all.
